Thanks!!
The HD in the 2nd-try server is a 80GB Maxtor.
I tried again with a 40GB Maxtor - still no luck.
I then went and removed all IDE-HDs from the 1st-try server
(2*IDE,2*SCSI) and installed it on the 1st SCSI-disk, which is some 9GB
Quantum Atlas.
That worked.
So, pfSense (or rather, the installer: I can install and boot 6B5 in any
case) seems to have problems with "big" disks - is this normal?
To relate to that, I've got three (exactly identical)
FreeBSD5.4-servers, each with 2*120 GB Samsung disks on a twe and all of
those can't boot from the disk directly - in their case, I use a SuSE9.2
install-CD that boots the OS from the HD after a timeout.
This just FYI - I'm sorry about the mess with the entries in the CVSTRAC
(Ticket 576)...
I'll try to clean it up a bit and add notes.
