I've read a lot about pfSense an now decided to try it out. At this point I'm playing with it trying to find out a way to configure it to suite my needs, as well as reporting problems.
What I'm trying to do is to set it in some kind of transparent mode to
use in collocation environment.
I have subnet of 8 IPs allocated to me routed by my provider. At this
point There is no central firewall - only ones on these boxes
themselves (Linux)

It is not however clear for me how I should do it. I guess I need
pfsense to take these IP addresses ?

There are two primary approaches to this you can take, and I'm not sure if one is considered better than the other.

1. DHCP relay (configured in the DHCP relay tab)
2. 1:1 NAT - set yourself up 8 private IPs and NAT between them and the real-world ones, which you will have set up as virtual IPs on the WAN interface.

I haven't even read your other questions yet, but I'm sure they'll be answered... eventually... ;-)
