I just tonight got my pfSense box running again at home. I enabled PPTP
on that box.
I then went to my office and did a fresh install there as well. PPTP
also enabled there.
After returning home, I am not able to connect to the office via PPTP
while PPTP is enabled on the home box. Disabling PPTP @ home allows the
connection to be made from behind the home box to the office without any
issues.
The client is XP Pro SP2 with the firewall enabled. When both boxes
have PPTP enabled, the client gets as far as verifying user name and
password and stops there.
The system log on the destination box shows the connection attempt and
then the drop.
Not sure what causes this, but it is definitely repeatable by toggling
the PPTP on the home connection when I am @ home.
