You should be able to
you have to create 2 nic cards in the VMware...
one briged to the LAN and the other one to the LAN...
enable DHCP in pfsense or just use pfsense's ip for gateway...

Just make sure the PC you have the virtual pfsense on doesn't use the
WAN for internet and uses pfsense...

should work... :)
