OK , i thought that might be the case, but the new soekris firmware is at
19200, and when i boot up, i get all the soekris mumbo jumb0. now i know i
need different baud speeds for what not
9600 was the correct to view pf, and 19200 was to view the soekris bios

Wrong console speed. set it to 9600 and you should see non garbage bootup.
Bootup can take 1-2 minutes, I don't have a soekris 45xx though.
