Did I get you correct: you used a swap space or a real r/w partion
on a CF card, and never had a failure in 5+ years?

I'm wondering what the r/w behaviour for a non-busy swap partition
is. I suspect pfsense on 128 MByte wrap needs only a tiny swap to
run stable. I've got a 1 GByte fast (20 MByte/s claimed) CF card,
so I'm wondering whether adding a swap partition to a flash image
would work/be a good idea.
