The rule certainly catches traffic heading for the destination IP, as when the rule is active traffic doesn't pass successfully (connection eventually times out). However therein lies the problem! With the rule enabled traffic doesn't make it to the destination IP, with the rule disabled it makes it but on our default WAN connection as expected. I happened to notice when assigning the new OPT1 interface that there was an option to "bridge with" another interface such as LAN or WAN. I left this set to "none". Should I be bridging the new OPT1 interface with LAN perhaps?
