Hi! We have a couple of DHCP’d client machines which I’d
like to force to always have the same IP address no matter what. So I’ve gone into the DHCP leases section, found the MAC
of a machine I’m interested in and headed for “Add a static mapping”
link. On the next screen I can them add the IP I’d like permanently
mapped, along with a description etc. However if I try to enter an IP which is
part of the DHCP pool I’m told that I can’t… because it’s
part of the DHCP pool. But that’s the point, isn’t it? On previous
[non pfSense] systems I’ve been able to tell the DHCP server; “OK
you have this pool of addresses from 1 to 250 for DHCP use but within that
range address ‘x’ and ‘y’ will always be assigned to these
H/W addresses”. Am I missing something? Thanks, Steve |
