I have not tested UDP, only TCP. Anyone else with problems with UDP
reflection?

confirmed, UDP reflection is not working for my DNS lookups ether:
dig @<my.external.facing.dns.ip> google.com
(nothing)
dig +tcp @< my.external.facing.dns.ip> google.com
(good results)
