We've got it running on a 1850 at the office (gigabit pipe; we've been able to push about 600Mbps, but that's probably because we can't find anything better to push against! ;-) ), and we've got a sc1425 (or thereabouts) that crashed/froze once with rc2. We're not as of this moment sure if it was hardware related or software related.
850s would most likely be fine. p.s., you might want to use plain text for your emails to lists like these. / oscar From: Scott Williamson [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: den 27 september 2006 21:24 To: [email protected] Subject: RE: [pfSense Support] pfsense on a PowerEdge 850? I do not know about the 850, however I can tell you we have pfsense running on 2 2850's and I just loaded it on 2 sc1425's with no issues. There are 10 types of people in this world, those who can read binary, and those who cannot. ________________________________________ From: Technical Support [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, September 27, 2006 1:59 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [pfSense Support] pfsense on a PowerEdge 850? Searching through the archives for this list as well as freebsd-current, I see a couple of threads involving a user having various trials and tribulations with trying to cause pfsense to work on their Poweredge 850. These threads come to an abrupt dead end when the user is given a patch from someone on the freebsd-current mailing list. ( http://freebsd.rambler.ru/bsdmail/freebsd-current_2005/msg12657.html and http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg02852.html ) This was about 11 months ago. I'm just wondering if anyone's tried this more recently, and if so, if they've encountered any issues, or if this has actually been resolved since then.
