I think you SHOULD be less subtle and more upfront with daft requests.....
"How about porting Open Office to pfSense?" - that is a dumb idea, go play
somewhere else!... is much clearer than 'it is not planned for 1.2'.
However, not wishing to shy away from doing some work... how about publishing
a quick list of stuff that you don't have time to work on, but would be happy
to receive somebody else's efforts?
