Someone mentioned that running tcpdump on a vlan interface actually *breaks* it. By "breaks", I'm betting that means "sends the vlan traffic without vlan tags".

I'm not sure exactly what happens to break it, but sending the traffic without tags would make sense. I haven't done enough testing to know what happens to the traffic. Interesting theory, could very well be right on.
