The image works out of the box with soekris, wraps, ... (any platform that has sis0 and sis1 nics at least). For other configs you need to assign the nics from the consolemenu first. Hard to say what goes wrong but a serial output of the console should help. Does it actually start to boot? If yes where does it fail?
I guess something goes wrong writing the image but that's only a guess. I have a soekris net4801 and I uncompressed and then dd-ed the embedded image to a 256MB cf card. When I plugged the ethernet cable into any of the ports, I did *not* get an ip lease. I used the identical process to installing m0n0wall last week (except maybe I used zcat instead of uncompressing first) and I was successful. Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong? This is the package I downloaded: pfSense-1.0.1-Embedded.img.gz A strange detail is that fdisk shows me the only partition on the disk is sdb4. My best guesses: 1) The embedded package is not recognizing my platform, or the embedded image is only for WRAP. 2) A serial cable is needed initially with pfsense 3) I need to resize my cf card. thx, peter --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
