Great! I also want to send out a general "thank you" to all people contributing
to documentation and helping other users by answering their questions! :-)

Holger,

Hmm.. No offense; all the contrary I think you're absolutely right; this way it
will be far easier for the rest of the people to make a lot out of this great
software, with far less trouble and frustration.

What I'll do, is that I'll redo the whole thing by adding illustration that is
very helpful when not familiar with terminology or the software itself, and
upload the guide for everybody to use it.

You're also right about "vlan1" issue, normally preconfigured for
admin/monitoring, etc.. It end up this way by mistake, actual and correct
configuration is to start from "vlan2" to "vlanN".

So in a couple of days I'll have the document prepared (.pdf) and the only
thing is to find out how am I going to upload it.

Cheers,

Michael

Michael,

No offense, but how about storing howtos/guides (like described in your
mail) at http://doc.pfsense.org and linking to it in your mailanswer next
time? At least if the answer is that extensive and general usable. This way the
documentation would become more and more complete.

Just as an addition, don't use VLAN1 as it often is preconfigured and/or used
for special things like administration and so on.

Holger
