the embedded version is designed for a system that's running off of Compact flash such as the WRAP and Soekris platforms so it does not write anything to storage during runtime other than config changes. logs and whatnot are (supposedly) written to a RAM temp location. think of it more like the firmware that's running on a linksys router. the full version is designed for full servers with storage that's not limited by how many writes it can do (flash, HDD, etc) and as such will record logs to storage as well as support adding packages to extend the functionality of the firewall. this would be more of a full software firewall running on something like a 2U server from Dell or something. -Sean Cavanaugh
