when you say "send attachments" what precisely are you tryign to do?
Sorry, I haven't kept previous posts in this thread.

it's just a thought, but can you do transfers of other types through the
firewall, e.g. scp a file, download/upload over ftp, or use https?

I am wondering if there's some other traffic shaping going on?

Or even a basic disk overflow somewhere - Internet Explorer makes
intermediate copies of files on C: even if you are pushing or pulling to
a different drive.
