We experienced a situation were users were asked over and over to log-in to the portal. The box had been UP for about 6 days with about 180 maximum users during the previous days. The problem started at about 4 PM with users in this authentication loop. Users that were logged in prior to that time continued to function normally (we think). From the AUTH log, we observed many messages with CONCURRENT USER - ReLOGIN text. We finally tried to reboot the system, but it failed with several "IPFW <Number> not in Table (?)" and "Fatal Error - Error converting Address in /etc/inc/radius.inc on line 205" and system would NOT reboot. Powered OFF system (pulled the plug) and the Captive Portal USER list did not reset to zero. We observed a BLANK user entry with a Session Start Time of 12/31/1969 18:00:00. We tried to DELETE the entry and the ERROR (Fatal Error - Error Converting ....) was displayed. We tried resetting STATE, etc, but nothing seemed to work even through a power-off reboot. SO, we reloaded PfSense 1.2-RC2 and everything is back UP. Any ideas what could be the problem (Counter overflows, out-of-range table pointers, etc.)? Thanks.
Fred
