Hi !
I have the following setup :
pfSense 1.2 RC2
HP DL 360 G4, mirrored drives, 3 NICs.
ACPI deactivated in the boot file (otherwise I get a hard freeze at
bootup).
LAN - obvious
OPT1 - DMZ - switch
WAN - VLANS to a switch with 5 different tagged connections
- 101 is WAN (LL for mail and web server)
- 102 is OPT2 (LL for VPN links)
- 103 is OPT3 (ADSL router for surfing)
- 104 is OPT4 (ADSL router for mailing-list)
- 105 is OPT5 (WiMax for VPN Backup)
Everything works fine. Yesterday I back it up and attempt to upgrade
to 1.2 RC3. Works fine until reboot where it stays hung forever on
"syncing server time before boot".
I tried reinstalling 1.2 RC2 and it worked fine until I reapplied my
backup config. Now it hangs at the exact same place as RC3.
If I boot with all three network cables unplugged it boots, waits like
30 seconds at the same place but goes through, waits again at openNTP
(which I activated recently) but eventually goes through to the
menu. The instant I replug the cables however pfSense freezes solid.
Booting safe mode or verbose doesn't yield any additional info and
gives the same results.
I note btw that the boot file which I modified to deactivate ACPI was
NOT backed up, I need to hit 2 or 3 at each boot ...
1/ could the time sync time out or at least be more verbose ?
2/ is it the fact that all my WAN are on VLANs ? Does that load AFTER
the time sync thing ?
3/ could the default time to press 2 for ACPI off or 3 for safe be
increased please ? maybe add a beep too ?
4/ could you send off list your support contracts please ?
THANKS !!!
