I'm confused, I have defined vlan1, and some parts of pfSense think it's
up, and some parts dont.
ifconfig see's it up:
# ifconfig vlan1
vlan1: flags=8843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
inet6 fe80::2e0:81ff:fe2b:d592%vlan1 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0xd
inet 192.168.202.1 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 192.168.202.255
ether 00:02:b3:11:f4:da
media: Ethernet autoselect (100baseTX <full-duplex>)
status: active
vlan: 202 parent interface: fxp0
It is enabled in the web interface, and the relevant part of the
config.xml is:
<opt4>
<descr>WIFIGuest</descr>
<if>vlan1</if>
<bridge/>
<ipaddr>192.168.202.1</ipaddr>
<subnet>24</subnet>
<gateway/>
<spoofmac/>
<mtu/>
<enable/>
</opt4>
Yet on the console menu I see:
*** Welcome to pfSense 1.2-RC3-pfSense on faire ***
LAN* -> fxp0 -> 192.168.1.1
OPT1(dmz)* -> fxp2 -> 192.168.2.1
WAN* -> fxp3 -> 203.214.67.82
OPT3(WIFIStaff)* -> vlan0 -> 192.168.201.1
OPT4(WIFIGuest) -> vlan1 -> 192.168.202.1
OPT5(Management) -> vlan2 -> 192.168.254.4
OPT2(Elaine) -> vlan4 -> 192.168.203.1
pfSense console setup
***********************
0) Logout (SSH only)
1) Assign Interfaces
2) Set LAN IP address
Should I be worried that the WIFIGuest vlan doesn't have an asterisk
against it? I'm having problems with the wifiguest network, but that
could be something wrong with the access point. I'm able to ping hosts
on OPT5(Management), and that inteface doesn't have an asterisk on it.
