Hi!
We just updated to 1.2 RC3 from 1.01 and I was delighted to see
OpenNTPD is now available.
I’ve enabled it on two of our LAN interfaces but when I attempt to
have Windows XP sync-up via its date & time control panel I’m told
“The time sample was rejected because; The peer is not synchronized”…..
Is there an initial “sync step” I need to take on pfSense box to
initiate synchronization with the system clock for example?
Thanks,
Steve
Steve,
No flogging should be necessary for this one.
It's possible that your pfSense install hasn't synched yet. To do this
on the command line, just run the ntpdate command against pool.ntp.org
(or your favorite NTPd). You should now be synched and OpenNTPD *should*
work for your XP clients. That's the theory anyhow, I've had all kinds
of drama with Windows machines and NTP synchronization.
