Thanks for the update, why do you say it is a bad idea? The only downside I see is that if the power goes out, I loose my logs. I really don't care about that. It looses power so rarely I don't see it being a big deal. Maybe I am missing something. Oh and thanks Gary, I didn't realise there was a squid mailing list. I am looking for it now. I will ask my question there.
