I'm not sure where you are that you have such reliable internet access, but such is not the case for many (esp. large) North American providers, especially for the typical consumer. I'd even say most of the attitudes I've seen are pretty cavalier toward private consumers. Nearly every benefit of multi-WAN configurations can be useful at the home: throughput, availability, and cost, among others.
