In fact, a search for (less quotes) "1u network appliance" nets quite a few similar ones from various sources. Would a VLAN-capable switch do what you need? There's every possibility your requirements may exceed your physical port's throughput, but if not, trunking could essentially turn an N-port switch into N-1 unique interfaces on your system.
