That's exactly why we can't upgrade the same way. The m0n0wall upgrade
process (which is what FreeNAS uses) is very reliable, it either
works, or doesn't upgrade at all. But it's a different type of setup,
we can't accommodate the same thing as is now.

It would be nice if we could move to a nanobsd or similar build system
which supports that. It's probably not likely to get a lot of our
attention though, unless someone directs our attention that way (read:
paid development).

I'd love to see someone contribute significant changes to embedded.
The way embedded is done now is not good.
