Hmmmm..
If you have a lot of traffic between VLAN, you'd be surprised that going
over 20Mbps on a soekris 4801 is practically impossible even with device
polling. With little more than that, the CPU is so stressed that I can
easily trigger watchdog resets. I don't have first hand experience with
the 5501.
So, don't put a slow CPU between 100Mbps interfaces if you need full
bandwidth routing.
