It is not possible to boot from CD on the ALIX boards.
Oh and make sure you use grub as the boot loader, with full installs
ALIX hardware doesn't seem to be happy with the BSD bootloader.
Also you'll have problems if you try to boot from anything > 4 GB, I
haven't tried that myself but others have reported the ALIX BIOS won't
boot anything bigger than that due to an issue in its BIOS. I think if
you keep the install to less than 4 GB you're ok with a bigger disk.
