I had same problem burning at 48X,,,, dropped to 12X disc was fine. Same also happened with Mythbuntu 8.10, but not with Ubuntu Server 8.04. Not sure if this is a burner issue or how the iso's are being generated. All the iso's worked fine with vmware.
