The only way that should be possible, assuming you're running 1.2.2 or
newer, is if you configure it that way. If you're running an older
version, upgrade as the bridging code was fixed for scenarios like
that in 1.2.2.

If you're running 1.2.2 and seeing that, backup your configuration and
email it to me off list.

It still has /usr/local/etc/rc.d/ where you can put shell scripts
