Greeting list-

I've got an OpenVPN setup with regular Linux openvpn clients connecting to a
pfSense 1.2.2 box. On occasion, I experience odd connectivity problems between
hosts on the the VPN and at the same time, I'm seeing this error in the logs:

Tue Apr 7 12:07:43 2009 us=337139 vpnuser1/xx.xx.xxx.238:38246
Authenticate/Decrypt packet error: packet HMAC authentication failed
Tue Apr 7 12:07:45 2009 us=633239 vpnuser1/xx.xx.xxx.238:38246
Authenticate/Decrypt packet error: packet HMAC authentication failed
Tue Apr 7 12:07:50 2009 us=180449 vpnuser1/xx.xx.xxx.238:38246
Authenticate/Decrypt packet error: packet HMAC authentication failed
Tue Apr 7 12:08:03 2009 us=138495 vpnuser1/xx.xx.xxx.238:38246
Authenticate/Decrypt packet error: packet HMAC authentication failed
Tue Apr 7 12:08:05 2009 us=570530 vpnuser1/xx.xx.xxx.238:38246
Authenticate/Decrypt packet error: packet HMAC authentication failed

I've (single|double|triple|quadruple)-checked the keys and certs to make
certain they are correct. This box is running 256bit AES encryption. The system
times are all sync'ed via NTP and are within only a couple of ms of each other.
Can anyone explain why the message above is appearing in my logs? I've been up
and down Google for some time and haven't found anything useful other than a
lot of " 'this is what is happening' with no replies" type threads.

Any ideas or pointers are appreciated. Thanks!
