Quoting Michel Servaes <[email protected]>:
I now have setup my WAN to be my ADSL dynamic IP address, to surf the web from within the house. But how should I now manage my mailserver, to only use the OPT3 (named SDSL Fixed IP) for mail-related ports (in both directions, for obvious reasons)
You need to create a firewall rule on your LAN interface that matches SMTP traffic (port 25) to your ISP's mail server, and then choose OPT3 (or a failover) as gateway for that rule (instead of your load balance gateway).
What I usually end up doing is looking up my ISP's netblocks in ARIN and sending everything destined for each ISP out their connection. That solves these issues neatly, and you can then use either ISP's mail server in your mail program if one goes down or whatnot.
