I hadn't seen this listed so hopefully this helps someone else.
I was getting invalid usename/password when using username along with cert.
I tried to run the pkg_add -r openvpn but I repeatedly received an error stating my appliance was already running the latest openvpn.tbz.
My fix was to change the freeradius port to 1992 in /etc/radius.conf file.
