To check for Padlock, just look at the FreeBSD boot up messages. #dmesg | grep "Padlock"
Are you running the 1.5Ghz VIA C7 fanless? If it takes sometimes to crash, it could be a heat problem. I would check the CPU fan and ventilation of the enclosure.
