thanks for the wake up call - that was definitely not my intention! > Nevermind there could be a language barrier... and such strong backlash from > someone I don't recall ever contributing. thinking afterwards you are right _but_ in my eyes the first thing a new user shall do is consulting the related project documentation to be clear that the piece of software really does what he wants and that it fits her or his skill level as well. To install a such complex piece of software without basic knowledge of networking might also not be the best idea but this should not keep anybody from doing so - its just what I think .. but if something might not work as expected it's just a bit counterproductive (okay as my reaction upon his mail, of course..) to start asking such questions on the mailinglist that has been answered for several times. A simple search on the forums or the mailinglist archive may give hints or the simple solution (probably the project documentation will have the right answers in the first place). And btw. the main project site of pfsense is pretty handy and self explaining with regards to the sources of documentation and theirlike .. many people spend a lot of time and work to bring information together on the wiki for example .. so why not use it? > [1] http://doc.pfsense.org/ > [2] http://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Tutorials > [3] > http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0979034280?ie=UTF8&tag=pfsense-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=0979034280 > [4] http://forum.pfsense.org/ A beginner tutorial also exists and it includes references to the above mentioned links too: http://doc.pfsense.org/smiller/Install_Guide.htm @barkat ali please excuse my reaction upon your mail - but did you had a look on the documentation, the mailinglist archives or the forum? Did you got it working? kind regards jan --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [email protected] For additional commands, e-mail: [email protected] Commercial support available - https://portal.pfsense.org
