Just looked closer at the backups.
The first backup (on 2.0-BETA4-20100925-0701) correctly lists
everything as lowercase.
The only UPPERCASE mention of WAN is
<interfaces>
<wan>
<descr>WAN</descr>
This backup was restored on 2.0-BETA4-20101120-0520, and then a new
backup was made on 2.0-BETA4-20101120-0520.
This second backup is broken in 2 places:
<interfaces>
<wan>
<descr><![CDATA[WAN]]></descr>
<rrddata>
<rrddatafile>
<filename>WAN-quality.rrd</filename>
