Nick, The image file you downloaded is to be written to a 1 GB flash card, not a DVD. This is the file which is to be written to optical media: ftp://reflection.ncsa.uiuc.edu/pub/pfSense/downloads/pfSense-2.0-RC3-i386-20110621-1650.iso.gz However, it hardly warrants a DVD, since it won't even occupy an entire CD.
