Yes, all client-accessible history is stored locally. It is possible to change your account username/login without creating a new account (you must be offline), but I believe access to the current set of chat history will not still be available. The chat history is saved on disk based on the username of the account. For example, ~/.purple/logs/jabber/[email protected]/[email protected]/logfile.txt I suspect that you could rename the directories for your account and for your buddies accounts and the logs would become accessible again from within Pidgin. I believe the logs themselves also contain the names of your account and of your buddies accounts, which might be a little misleading in the UI, but shouldn't cause any problems. If you decide not to rename the directories, you can always access the old logs with either a text editor or a web browser (they're stored either as plaintext or HTML). -Mark _______________________________________________ [email protected] mailing list Want to unsubscribe?
