Hello michael and thank you for your quick response....i'm afraid to say that i
have absolutely no experience whatsoever with this technology...not even
setting up any account of any type...i had thought to ask the person who came
round one day to take away microsoft and install ubuntu in my laptop for
me.....so i guess if it's too complicated for you to instruct me, considering
my non-existant knowledge about all this, i may ask this chap to see if he can
help.....though i undoubtedly would prefer your expertise, i realize you are a
very busy person and will no doubt have more important problems to deal

It's relatively easy.
Once you've installed the app, just launch it. Then use the "menu" at
the top to setup accounts, etc just like you would with normal pidgin.
The only real changes to the N900 port are GUI related so it fits into
the hildon design.
