You need to set your friends in a "Facebook" list on facebook in order
for this to happen.

I am connecting Pidgin to Facebook so that I can chat with my Facebook
friends. I also have the toaster notification. However, now when my
Facebook friends sign in, they show up in my “buddies group” and not
in “Facebook” group (which they used to earlier). I then manually have
to move them. How can I set it such that when a Facebook friend signs
in, he/she automatically moves to Facebook group?
