I'm wondering why Pidgin splits IM conversations into multiple segments in a
single day. For instance, I chat with a coworker at various times during the
day, and the conversation gets cleared out and logged as multiple segments when
I close the IM window rather than just appearing as one conversation for the
day. It also logs the conversation as multiple segments for the day. Under
'Preferences' I have 'Close IMs immediately when the tab is closed' unchecked.
This keeps the conversation going for maybe an hour or so even if I close the
window. But if it goes to 2 hours or more, the conversation gets logged, the
window clears, and a blank window opens when I begin IMing that user again.
I want IM conversations to stay active for the entire day until I log off, so
at any given time if I reopen the IM window it will show the entire
conversation for the day (instead of it clearing out and having to reference
one of the log segments for the day). Is there a way to accomplish this?\
