Sound alert in pidgin

Hi,

Is it possible to have a different sound alerts in Pidgin chat client (2.6.5) ?
I want to have a bit loud sound .
I tried to put a .wav file and previewed it . It correctly plays it but during actual chatting it plays the same default sound.

Please help.
