pidgin itself isn't supported on BlackBerry, but you could try BeeJive (my preference) or IM+. Both seemed functional enough within the limits of a BlackBerry before I abandoned the platform.
That being said, I have no OS6 experience, so confirm compatibility or use a free trial before purchasing.
