* What version of Pidgin are you running? (Go to Help -> About)
* What IM protocol are you using (e.g., Yahoo, Google, etc.)?
* Are you otherwise able to use the internet? In particular, can you get
to the page for the protocol (e.g., gmail.com for Google)?
