Please reply to the list, and not just me personally?

Check for a pidgin icon in the system tray (near the clock), or use Task Manager to find pidgin from your running processes list and terminate it.

The same way you uninstall any other program on your operating system. Assuming this is Windows, Control Panel --> Programs, select pidgin and uninstall it.
