@Mitch, The pidgin mailing list does not have access to your passwords. You would instead have to contact the provider of the service you were using.
Pidgin supports many services so this could be many places, but a good place to start is someone else in your organization including an IT representative. The person who reloaded your computer can likely check a colleagues computer to determine the service being used and then escalate from there.
