Microsoft ditched windows live messenger and msn messenger for good now.
they purchased skype.
I'm still using Pidgin with my "MSN Messenger" account with no problems.
I just had to actually sign into my account using Skype once after the
changeover (so the account was updated, I guess), and then I could
access it through Pidgin, again, as I could before.
