Sorry...but I really don´t know what is happening since I still didn´t get to
logon on pidgin.

Is it possible any orientation instead of just sending emails?

Hi,

I'm not sure how this happened, but whenever I start Pidgin it makes my screen
flash and it changes my screen resolution from 1920x1080 to 800x600. Once I'm
able to change my screen resolution back to 1920x1080, my pidgin application
has an odd looking layout. Can you help me fix the problem or let me know what
is causing this?

Thanks you

Which operating system are you using? Which version?

Which version of Pidgin are you using (go to Help -> About in the main
window)?

Does Oracle use a custom Pidgin?

Hi Michael,

I'm using Windows 7 Professional and
Pidgin 2.10.9 (libpurple 2.10.9)

I do not think that Oracle uses a custom Pidgin but I couldn't say for sure. Is
there any way for me to find out?

This is unlikely to fix your problem, but using the newest version
(currently 2.10.11) is always a good idea.

Hopefully it would say something in Help -> About. Also, if the Oracle
logo appears anywhere other than users' avatars, that's a good
indicator.

Sorry that I couldn't be more helpful. I'll let you know if I find
anything similar on the bug tracker.

You could also share a debug log:

        https://developer.pidgin.im/wiki/TipsForBugReports#Windows

But I'm not sure whether it would be useful in diagnosing this kind of
issue.

Karl, it pains me to say this, but one reason you seem unable to
configure Pidgin correctly is because Oracle's internal IT department
seem to be deficient and do not provide you or your co-worksers adequate
support.

Oracle seems to have decided to use Pidgin internally but has not
bothered to alter the installation so that the help links point to
corporate resources inside Oracle instead of causing users to
constantly be sending emails to the peer support list provided by
ordinary Pidgin users who have no greater power than the ability to
read and type replies to this list.

Please do us a favour, speak to whoever is in charger of messaging
applications within Oracle and ask them why, despite several years
passing, they have still been unable to complete the simple task of
supporting their users.

While you're at it, you could also ask them why your display is
misbehaving.

I wish you luck.
