So I’ve seen a lot of older posts discussing how to get Pidgin to enable SMS support if you have it integrated with Google Hangouts. Since there’s been a number of changes to Hangouts lately, I’m trying to get them to work but to no avail.
I have a Moto X Pure with Android 5.1.1 (probably going to receive the upgrade to Marshmallow 6.0 in a couple weeks). I have Google Voice and using Hangouts as my SMS app. I receive text through both my GV number and my SIM card number. I’m on Windows 10 using Pidgin 2.10.11. I had found a Perl plugin that was supposed to work but I can’t seem to download and install the plugin onto Pidgin. I’d like to be able to text from Pidgin through my phone via GV and SIM numbers.
