Hi,
Yahoo has announced it is shutting down the current Messenger system
in favour of a 'new and improved' system.

The shutdown is supposedly going to be complete at the end of August
2016 (less than a couple of weeks away!).
Will Pidgin continue to support Yahoo? I have no idea if the protocol
itself will change, but I can tell you that messages sent from their
new client don't appear in Pidgin.
