Hello. I recently tried to setup video & mic in pidgin, for what i found this article: http://michael.stapelberg.de/Artikel/video_chat_with_pidgin
The problem happens in 'Voice/Video settings': I can select services, like PulseAudiom, Xv, v4l2, but for all of them, including alternatives, there is only one item: Default. Looking in faq i got, that it uses gstreamer-properties, claimed to be gnome utility, while i have xfce with only few gnome tools (epiphany works better midori, and there is nothing better than baobab for gtk). I found link to arch aur package of gstreamer-properties, with link to gnome-media: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/gstreamer-properties/ but it is for gstreamer-0.10, while my pidgin requires 1.0. I'm gentoo user (more exactly - calculate distro), and i can't find even in all overlays, listed at gpo.zugaina.org nothing about gnome-media or gstreamer-properties. But even when i find it, i still have a proposal: instead of gstreamer-properties use another executable: gst-device-monitor-1.0, which is from gst-plugins-base. It seems to be only for gstreamer-1.0, as i have both branches if that base plugins set, but othere is no gst-device-monitor-0.10... this is reason, i can guess, why pidgin did not use it yet. _______________________________________________ Support@pidgin.im mailing list Want to unsubscribe?
