Hi again, There's a few different aliases that are stored in Pidgin. The main one is whichever alias is set when you edit the alias in Pidgin (aka the local alias). Pidgin will fall-back to use the alias in the roster (aka the server alias), but only if there's no local alias. The workaround for yourself would be to right click the buddy in the buddy list, choose "Alias..." and then clear out the alias that's there. It should then revert to using the server alias.
